saggio tratto da un ciclo di seminari tenuti presso le scuole, nell’ambito del progetto artura, arte&natura, sponsorizzato dalla provincia di frosinone tra il 2004 ed il 2006. sono toccati temi matematici, fisici, biologici, artistici, filosofici e letterari. il saggio è alla terza revisione, e probabilmente verrà ancora ritoccato, per allinearsi il più possibile ai programmi ministeriali di un liceo scientifico. è nato in seguito alla mostra “oltre il compasso” del 1999 e segue le linee tematiche di ricerca personale dell’autore. contiene quindi anche un catalogo di creazioni ispirate alle geometrie frattali, un capitolo su maurits cornelis escher ed una collezione di forme che posson esser ritrovate in natura, nel corpo umano e nell’architettura. ne esistono anche due copie rilegate a mano, create dall’autore-artista per la presentazione del libro, una con layout verticale, l’altra orizzontale, che è poi risultato esser quello definitivo.

this book is the result of a cicle of seminars held in schools, for progect artura, art&nature, sponsored by the province of frosinone, regarding mathematics, physics, biology, arts, literature, psychology, phylosophy. this is the 3rd revision, and probably it will be retouched to align the contents to ministerial programs for scientific schools. the project began in 1999, after the exposition “beyond the calipers”, and follows the thematic guidelines of the author’s personal research activity. it contains also an excerpt from his portfolio, with selected creations inspired by fractal geometries, a chapter about maurits cornelis escher and his engravings and a collection of shapes belonging to math, easily recongnized in nature, in the human body and biological structures, in architecture and in the history of the arts. there exsist two hanmade copies of this book, produced for its presentation: the vertical layout doubled in page number, was discarded in favour of the horizontal one in second edition.
