Description

Much has been written about healthcare for older people, but the aging process affects people of all ages. Aging, rather than old people, has received scant attention within healthcare literature. This book addresses this paucity. It explores key perspectives of the aging process. Aging and old age are not necessarily synonymous. Aging is a complex, multi-faceted concept and therefore is explored through three different perspectives: chronological, sociological and physiological. Although the majority of chapter authors are nurses, topics covered in this book extend beyond purely nursing issues.
