    Hello Avaxmates, whats the need of posting mirrors for such small file. It would be better if we can create mirrors for those files which are more in number for same application/item. For example, there are some cases where the total size of the file to download is around 90MB. Still there are posters who split this 90MB into multiple files instead of uploading a direct file in single url. Here its makes sense to post mirrors. Use your commonsense before posting mirrors.

People use rapidshare for the benifit of themselves and also ourselves. Inorder to carry the account forward, rapidshare premium account holders need 10,000 points and these points come from free users of rapidshare only. If you create mirrors for such files, then how is it possible to get points and how is it possible to carry the account forward and how is it possible for the same uploaded to load any of the useful files in the future and also remember, the files loaded by the uploader will be deleted if the premium account is not extended!!!!

    You are right vivixa. That's why i will stop uploading, or to be more precise, stop posting here because there's no point in doing that anymore.


    The simple solution, of course, is to stop using Rapidshare.

Now that they have gone down to a 10 day file expiration time, there is no reason to support them.  Use alternative services.  There are only about 4 million of them out there.

Rapidshare premium points are the worst invention ever.  Now every uploads a duplicate simply because they want points.  What a ridiculous situation!

    There are other filehosts where like with RS the free downloader has to wait 1-2 minutes and type in a code to get the download link. But these other filehosts allow you to download at least 100 MB until they lock your IP for  a while and you need to change your IP (that takes about 3-5 minutes).

So if RS would made it more attractive to download free, e.g. allow free downloads up to 150 MB and only after this to lock your IP for 1 hour then even if there are non RS mirrors the people would download from RS because it would have the same conditions (disadvantages), but better download speeds.

So, providing mirrors is in my opinion only a alternative for poor guys to get their stuff quicker and not forcing them to download only from RS and then tormenting their PC's to switch the IP.

So if you upload only telling that U want no mirrors and hoping to get points from free downloaders, U would only force the poor guys (unable to afford a RS premium) to download from RS.

So I think that RS's tactic to attract files to RS by giving points to the uploaders has no future: everyone greedy to download stuff from RS will end up making an premium because it takes too much time to download only 1 file at a time and after that to switch IP (because in the normal case people are downloading entire movies and parallel with these the small ebooks). So in the end RS will be a file hoster where only premium users will share files between them and try to attract other free users to RS. So RS will probably never try to finance itself from advertising.

So by providing mirrors to RS offering smaller disadvantages than RS people keep alternatives to RS and in the end low RS prices for premium users (like with MS windows, as long there are the *nix like OS's people will always have the alternative to start using it if ms prices explode).
