Description

"Auf neuen Wegen" offers a range of authentic literary texts and factual material giving an insight into the language and culture of Germany and its people. Themes discussed are: People in Germany, Time, Work and Careers, Health, University and Further Education, The Arts, German-speaking countries and the EU.
Each chapter contains three thematic sections which examine different aspects of the subject under discussion with reading and listening comprehension activities, questions for group discussion and written exercises.

Special attention is given to summarising different types of academic texts and this skill is intensively practised. All the material encourages students to participate in group discussions in class and to work together to produce presentations.

An optional consolidation section with supplementary texts, games and internet projects and a detailed grammar summary with exercises round off each chapter. An appendix of learning tips and an answer key complete the book.

The course is designed for adult learners who have successfully mastered the basic level of Deutsch (B1), heavily involved in the German language, as well as planning a university in the German language. Tutorial for the advanced and high-level.
