I guess Joe Nickell is an authority on whatever it is he's debunking that week. Since the book is about lake monsters, he's an authority on it. These guys are just the opposite end of the scale from the lunatic fringe believers.
If the loch ness monster came out of the water and bit him on the ass, he'd still say it was swamp gas. LOL
