Boson NetSim for CCNP v6.0 Final Beta With Labs From Netsim 7.06

I have managed to get this version to work.
It contains ALL the labs of Netsim 7.06 updated via the web.
Follow the instructions in the " Install Instruction.txt " file.
The problem with exporting the labs from Netsim 7 , is linking the labs to work from the "C:\Program Files\Boson Software\Boson NetSim for CCNP" directory and not really the software. Thanks go to the guys who ORIGINALLY uploaded the install files, I only managed to get the Netsim v7.06 labs to work on them.

kindly help me with the boston netsim for CCNP, i av tried what 'darkslayer' ask me to do but still having problems runnin the simulator.

I would like to know what DOES NOT WORK.

Have you downloaded the program from the Megaupload link that I have posted.

If so then you should follow these instructions below :



Run netsimCCNP6finalbeta.exe and follow instructions for the installation.

Copy patch-netsim6CCNPfinalb.exe to the installed directory
"C:\Program Files\Boson Software\Boson NetSim" and RUN it from there.
Patch the software and you are done.

After instalation and patching, run Boson NetSim for CCNP from the desktop icon.

All Boson 6.0 final beta labs will be installed in the "C:\Program Files\Boson Software\Boson NetSim"

After ALL Boson NetSim final beta labs are install.
These are the folders that will be installed " LabPacks and MyLabs "

Close the program.

DO NOT DO ANY UPDATES. BOSON UPDATES ONLY TWO FILES ie. Boson_NetSim.exe and mscon43.dll
SO YOU DONT NEED TO UPDATE.


Copy ALL the files and folders from the Web Update_12Feb08 file into the
"C:\Program Files\Boson Software\Boson NetSim for CCNP\" directory.
Ovewrite everything that it prompts you for.

After overrwriting the folders and files, restart Boson NetSim for CCNP from the desktop icon.
You Now Have The Latest Labs all working.

I have personally helped at least 5 people at my work place to use this software and it works beautifully.

I followed your directions to the T and it just won't work, not sure if its a Vista thing but when I click the desktop icon it does nothing. I appreciate your concern tho. I have 9 days to D Day and wish I had a sim.

Nope, just tried again, must be a Vista thing. Grrrrrr. It's ok, I'm doing pretty well in my studys and I'm pretty sure I'll pass next week, just wanted to slam it and practice on sims. But its cool. Thanks a bunch.

Thanks for sharing netsim...But it still has some problems:

It is not providing command set for IPV6 routing.

I tried to in amend some configration files and use Boson CCNP 7.0 version as installer which was already available on the forum.It also shows labs like what you did but no support for IPV6 routing.Could you please check IPV6 routing lab and tell me how to update the command set for IPV6?

has anyone tested out the EIGRP lab? under BSCI? does that work? I can't get a connection between P1R1 and P1R2

Windows Vista Compatibility:
NetSim Version 7 does support Windows Vista.

NetSim Version 6 is not supported under Windows Vista. NetSim has been updated to include Vista support in Version 7.0 However, if you are using NetSim Version 6 and wish to use NetSim Version 6 on Windows Vista, you can try the following steps:
1. Right-click on "C:\Program Files\Boson Software". Then click on "Properties" -> "Security", and modify your permissions so that you have full control over this folder.
2. In this same folder, locate the following programs: "Boson_NetSim.exe", "updates.exe", and "lab menu.exe". Right-click on them and then click on "Run as Administrator"
3. Click on your start menu. Look for the "Boson NetSim" icon. For example, "Boson NetSim for CCNA". Right-click on this icon and click on "Run as Administrator".

*Please note that these steps may not work on some Vista systems.

WORKS BEAUTIFULLY..... BUT ONE CORRECTION IN INSTRUCTIONS:

1. The very first thing u must to do, its install both simulators Boson Netsim For CCNP 6 Beta 3 (its in archive) and Boson Netsim for CCNP 7

2. Run Boson Netsim For CCNP 6 Beta 3 . when app will ask u for registration simply cancel it. then go to the menu Ordering. There u can find serial number for key generator, for generation the next key u need for complete registration. Okey now i hope u've registered Boson Netsim For CCNP 6 Beta 3.

UPDATE HERE...USE UPDATE.EXE (RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR) .... OTHERWISE YOU CANT SEE ANY FOLDER IN C:/PROG~FILES/BOSTON SOFTWARE

3. Install Boson Netsim for CCNP 7. Run Demo version once! Wait for lab packages would be extracted! Then u can close this programm and never turn on it again !!!!!!!!

4. Go to the Boson Netsim For CCNP 6 Beta 3 installation folder ( C:\Program Files\Boson Software\Boson NetSim for CCNP ). There u can find next files and foilders to be deleted.
There are : LabPacks (folder), MyLabs (folder) and LabSettings.ini (file). (IMPORTANT)

OKEY now we are almost done !!!

5. Extract from "BOSON new LABS" archive files and folders (LabPacks, MyLabs,LabSettings.ini) to the Boson Netsim For CCNP 6 Beta 3 installation folder.

6. After this procedures u can run Boson Netsim For CCNP 6 Beta 3 (shortcuts alredy on your desktop). Now u can see all new LABS for CCNA CCENT CCNP. All comands for all devices and all mods will be fully working.
