Vergnügliches Kabarett um Bildung, Musik und Mathematik verspricht der Untertitel und sicher sind die einzelnen Bereiche auch mehr als angemessen vertreten und werden mit ironisch-satirischen Spitzen (auch in bildungspolitischer Hinsicht) präsentiert. Auch witzige Bemerkungen über musikalische Strukturen (und Werke) und humorvolle Anekdoten aus dem mathematischen Sektor sind zu finden und der Leser lernt auch (PISA!) gelegentlich etwas dazu. Aber eigentlich wird von Anfang bis Ende über die Themen nur schwadroniert und man fragt sich sehr schnell (und dann bis zum Ende immer wieder), was denn nun das Kabarettistische an diesem Oeuvre sein soll. Ein Vergnügen kommt dabei durchgängig nicht unbedingt auf (trotz gelegentlicher Lacher), da ist es lohnenswerter, Albrecht Beutelspachers In Mathe war ich immer schlecht zur Hand zu nehmen.
