The traditional lifestyles and customs of individual North American tribes and their history after contact with encroaching whites are topics discussed in alphabetical entries ranging from Abenaki to Zuni. Cross-referenced segments on cultural areas, i.e., Northeast, supplement the information given under individual tribal headings. Sections on prehistory, Mayas, Aztecs, and Olmecs are included. Entries contain a lot of information but are often chatty, rambling discussions that stray from the topic. The work does not go significantly beyond Barbara Leitch's A Concise Dictionary of Indian Tribes of North America (LJ 4/1/80). Recommended for public libraries lacking Leitch.Mary B. @ edjer: I had such a good laugh with your 'curse', it really made my day. Now going to the reason of your posting, I couldn't agree more with you; the problem is that some people just don't get it: SHARING IS NOT ABOUT THEM; it's not about them; they already have whatever it is they are "sharing", so it is NOT about THEIR being able to download the posting but about making it available to the widest possible audience, and that requires an user-friendly hosting site. And by the way, so many people have "personal issues" with rapidshare, for instance, that they keep looking for lousy alternatives; for them it is "as long as it is NOT fucking Rapidshare, I'm fine", making it impossible for the rest of us to ever getting what they are sharing.
But go and try to explain that to these idiots ...
