Grade 9 Up-According to the preface, work on this exhaustive reference was begun a year before the September 11th attacks. The broad focus is on terror incidents both past and present, which are defined by three factors: "method- target- and the purpose." Kushner has gathered the type of information for which teen researchers are clamoring: biographies of key individuals, the histories of various terrorist groups both foreign and domestic, and a full discussion of specific incidents. Some of the latter may be difficult to find; for example, the siege at the Branch Davidian complex is found under "Waco"; there is a see reference from "David Koresh," but not from "Branch Davidian." The search for information, however, is aided by a comprehensive index. There are few illustrations, all of them in black and white. A "Reader's Guide" at the front of the volume gives broad subject headings to follow. Appendixes include maps that pinpoint terrorist incidents, a good list of Web sites, a valuable chronology of attacks in the U.S. and on U.S. interests abroad, and a lengthy bibliography. This work is ideal for libraries looking for a one-volume reference on this timely topic.

If nothing is mentioned about US & Israeli terrorism, then its not worth reading.
who asked you if its worth reading or not ?
even if the U.S and Israel were mentioned there, 99% of world wide terrorism is by Muslims
And who asked ur opinion?
http://www.intellnet.org/resources/american_terrorism/Amerikan_Terrorism.html
Ahlam, why do not you shutup? The fact that Terrorism is born and made in middle east by muslims. So, when others talk, learn to listen... it is not the middle east here that you are going to force your opinion on others.
Why everytime somebody talk about terrorism, muslims get ichy?
I don't mean to sound rude, but pakwan, you seem to be misinformed, at best. If you don't believe me ask yourself a simple question: What happened on September 11? I mean in the year 1973. I'll give you the location: Chile. Well, if you don't know I'll tell you: The government of the democratic President of Chile, Salvador Allende, was being overthrown by the military forces of that country, with the express support and funding of the United States of America (yeah, the Freedom Fighters!!!). This cup led to a a 17 years long dictatorship in which thousands of people were abducted, tortured and executed. When Henry Kissinger, the national security adviser to President Nixon and ideologist of the cup was asked why the United States meddled in the democratic process of foreign country he answered: "Because we can". Before you ask, this is all exposed in a series of internal CIA an government documents released by the Clinton Administration in 2000.
Of course there's a lot more to it than what can be written here (like the funding a support of all the dictatorships which overthrown left winged governments in America Latina), but if this not terrorism (I mean large scale), then I don't know what is.

Well tfbasta, I think you are the one doing the imposing part here.
@gmourato
Good point. All the rebels and coups that America has covertly supported around the world to undermine the government that it didn't like would be one of the greatest state-sponsored terrorism in the history of mankind.
Terrorism is a universal crime, it can happen to anyone, to any nation. Everything that makes you scare to do whatever you do can be classified as terrorism. Anyone can be a terrorist too. So I dont think there is a point to argue which one is terrorist, which one is not. Just enjoy the book..
tfbasta, you should put a very old sock and zip it.
blackdragonz, I certainly agree with you on your take on terrorism: ever since the man was capable of fear and violence the terrorism existed in some way or another. I disagree, however, in not discussing about it. I think that if you can make out who terrorizes who in the world you get a good start point to begin to understand how the world really works. I also think a good argument is always best than staying silent, at least it lets you recognize that there are others that don't think like you, and maybe that is a good thing, since is the first step in learning to accept pluralism of thought. Even more, The more different opinions in an argument the more enriching the argument becomes, because it makes you think, and that is really a good thing.

morpheus,
i truly understand your view on this matter. i did not mind discussing about terrorism either. but i dont think Avaxhome is the place to talk about it. there are many forums out there that handle this kind of subjects. i think it will be cool if someone can point us to a forum or a mailing list that discuss about politics or terrorism. i hate to see members leaving just because of discussion like this. thanks for your understanding
