PAUL V. ADAMS is Professor of History at Shippensburg University, PA. ERICK LANGER is Professor of History at Georgetown University. LILY HWA is Assistant Professor of History at the University of St. Thomas. PETER N. STEARNS is Heinz Professor of History and Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University. He is the author of numerous books, including American Cool and Fat History: Beauty in the Modern West (also available from NYU Press), a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize in History.
