Privatization was in vogue during the eighties and nineties. It aimed to eliminate, or at least reduce, corruption, inefficiency and the politicization of economic matters - and it often succeeded. Ernst von Weizscker is a member of the German Parliament [Bundestag] and former President of the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Energy and Environment. His previous books include "Factor Four: Doubling Wealth, Halving Resource Use" and "Earth Politics." Oran Young is at the Donald Bren School of Environmental Science and Management, UC, Santa Barbara. Matthias Finger is Full Professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and Dean of Continuing Education.
