The Mathematical Intelligencer publishes stylish, well-illustrated articles, rich in ideas and usually short on proofs. The balance of topics reflects the broad spectrum of mathematical activity, and especially, great recent achievements (the Mordell conjecture, the Bieberbach conjecture, the Jones polynomial).
