Men Speak Out is a collection of essays written by and about pro-feminist men. In the essays, which feature original, lively, and accessible prose, anti-sexist men make sense of their gendered experiences in today’s culture. And since the interrelations between gender, race, class, and sexuality are central to feminism, Men Speak Out prioritizes such issues. These authors tackle the issues of feminism, growing up male, recognizing masculine privilege, taking action to change the imbalance of power and privilege, and the constraints that men experience in confronting sexism. They describe their successes and challenges in bucking patriarchal systems in a culture that can be unsupportive of — or downright hostile to — a pro-feminist perspective. In these chapters, a diverse group of men reflects on growing up, shares moments in their day-to-day lives, and poses serious questions about being a pro-feminist male living, working, thinking, and learning in a sexist society.

NO MIRRORS according to the rules
Hey, wait a minute, no one asked me, I'm a man;)
Obviously you're going to find a very mixed perception depending on the type of guy you question. Personally I don't identify with the social norms. Too many simply adhere to the typical guy syndrome in its various forms.
Sure my body has strength, but that doesn't make me want to prove it nor parade it. Sure I've got a penis, but that doesn't mean I seek to procreate nor seek sexual pleasure every 2 seconds. Sure I've got mental acuity, but that doesn't mean I manipulate nor exploit. Sure I'm attracted to the female form, but I know the form is superfical. Sure I've heard of feminism, but like every ism, I view it as just another extreme reaction.
I really don't see being a mmale as the problem, simply the intrepretation & conformity as the real issue & that's why feminism failed. Get behind the form, the superficial, the idea. Power is for the weak, just as wealth is for the poor, forget it - transcend it.
