The discrete Volterra series holds particular value in the analysis of nonlinear systems in telecommunications. However, most books on the Volterra series either do not address this application or only offer a partial discussion. Nonlinear Aspects of Telecommunications provides an in-depth treatment of the Volterra series and the benefits it offers as a representation of nonlinear problems, particularly in echo cancellation in digital telecommunications systems. Beginning with the fundamentals of the discrete Volterra series, the author presents its basic definition, notions, conditions for convergence and stability, and its matrix representation for multiple-input and multiple-output nonlinear digital systems. Good to see another book in the nonlinear field
Being in the nonlinear signal processing field, I was thinking of buying this book for myself, which appeared appealing, given the somewhat general title. However, I got our library to order it. It has only two chapters, the first an 166 page introduction to the discrete Volterra series. This very long chapter may be useful as an introduction, but there are also other books and papers that may serve the same purpose. The second chapter contains 114 pages on nonlinear echo cancellation. Although this book is interesting, in an area that is not as widely published, it is quite a specific, and probably should have a more specific title. Given the high price, I have decided not to add it to my personal book shelf, but like the idea that it is in our library. Would give it three and a half stars -rounded up to four.pass: gigapedia.org
