1) Rolling Stones - The Last Time



Smash no 1 for the Stones,ditching their Blues covers repetoire for a Brian Jones inspired Jagger-Richards composed chart stormin\' dose of pure delight.
Many think that the Stones pop period from 65-67 was their best,well it certainly was for singles,but the best LPs came later.I expect you can\'t have both:(

2) Tom Jones - It\'s Not Unusual



It certainly wasn\'t unusual to see The Welsh Panty sniffer in the charts in the mid 60s either.A number 2 this week in \'65,with the trademark boyo vocal.

3) Searchers - Goodbye My Love

At no 4 this week,Brit Invasion boys the Searchers were on top form here,yet again.

4) Gerry & The Pacemakers - I\'ll Be There



At 25,and rising,the loveable Scouse compatriots of the Beatles were still able to knock out a great song.

5) Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders - Game Of Love



At no 16,one of those bands you\'ve probally forgot existed:)

6) Gene Pitney - I Must Be Seeing Things



At no 11,but a later top ten smash for the from the clock watching Tulsa bound Yank.

7) Petula Clark - I Know A Place


At 17 this week,Petula sure new a few places,just most of them were downtown LOL.

8) Cliff Richard - The Minute You\'re Gone



Anoher top ten hit for the Peter Pan of pop,here at no 87 this week was Cliff.He\'d been written off when the British Invasion acts like the Stones/Beatles appeared..only to bounce back with a vengance.

9) Roger Miller - King Of The Road


At 32 this week,but a later smash for country singer Roger.

10) Marianne Faithfull - Come And Stay With Me

Sweet Marianne,girlfriend of Mick Jagger,lover of Mars Bars..and not a bad singer to boot.
