Taz knows his stuff. I've gone from darkness into light. Principles and practical proceedures that yield some pretty fantastic results. Much, much better than I was getting. Can you say calibration?

To get the best results, however, isn't cheap. To do pro level scans we all need a scanner that has as close to a 4.0 dynamic range as possible with as high an optical resolution as your budget can afford. Oh, and then there's that third party, specialized scanning software. This last item makes all the difference in the world. It's good to have the right tools, it makes everything so much easier. Taz tells all.

Know what your end result needs are and do as much fixing and sizing work during the scan and leave photoshop out of the mix until there's an emergency or a specialized need. This book lays it out, step-by-step.

It's a bit of reading and practicing but this book has all the info... at least for now. Happy scanning everyone.
