What did the media tell us in the run up to war on Iraq? Was it all true? Where are the weapons of mass destruction? This book is for everyone who is appalled by the duplicity and misinformation churned out by the media in the lead up to war with Iraq, and in its long and continuing aftermath. Written by some of the world's leading journalists and commentators, it's a scathing indictment of the media's role in creating public support for a war which, day by day, is taking a heavy toll in coalition and Iraqi lives, and which threatens to create further instability and resentment of the US throughout the Middle East.
Critics, activists and journalists from both sides of the Atlantic destroy the idea that the mainstream media have anything to do with objectivity and balance. The propaganda machinery of the UK and US in the Iraq war is exposed as fundamentally dishonest and as a significant threat to freedom of thought and expression. The book draws on the experience of leading anti-war and media activists to provide analysis and guidance on how to resist the media war.

Chomsky -- known philisophical supporter of Hezbollah; the man who lied about the supposed Human Rights Watch study about the Al-Shifa pharmaceutical factory.
Fisk -- the man who suspects the American government of complicity (or causation) in the Trade Center collapses.
Pilger -- the man who blames Blair for the deaths in the 2005 London bombings, and who called President Obama a 'glossy Uncle Tom'.
Yvonne Ridley, who hastened to convert to Islam after capture by the taliban, who was fired by Al-Jazeera because she was too argumentative, and who has worked for the Iranian government-controlled media.
Norman Solomon -- who desperately tried to disarm America's nuclear arsenal and leave it defenseless in the face of a nuclear-armed Soviet Union.
John Stauber -- who argues that President Bush lied to Americans about WMD, but refuses to admit that many Democrat politicians must therefore have lied as well, having made the exact same claims.
Mark Steel -- one of the 'useful idiots' in the Socialists' Workers Party during the Cold War. His group felt that the Soviet Union was far, far too capitalist (!).
Yes, please read this book if you truly think the cast of contributors is appealing. Myself, I would question this bunch if they told me that water was wet.
"tallil2long" -- A man/woman, who do NOT want to know the truth, and denies ANYTHING that not Includes Corporate Media's Dis-Information.
