This book originates from a renowned course in receptor pharmacology taught at the University College of London for the past three decades. The second edition streamlines the material by eliminating cell biology/cell biochemistry and focusing on drug receptors. The section on molecular structure of receptors reflects the advances in this area. Two new chapters, one on G proteins and one on tyrosine kinases as signal transductors enhance the section on signal transduction systems. The book contains over a hundred useful diagrams and tables to aid illustration of concepts, and practice problems to facilitate comprehension.

Illustrations not in color

To be honest I still haven't read the entire book and I really cannot comment too much on its contents/information provided. What I totally disliked about this book was the TOTAL lack of colored illustrations. There are many illustrations which would have been easier to follow and understand if they were in color and personally, I hated shelling out a 100 bucks for it!!
