About the Author
Christopher Marlowe (1564–1593), regarded as the foremost English dramatist before Shakespeare, was murdered at the age of twenty-nine.
Stephen Orgel, the Jackson Eli Reynolds Professor of Humanities at Stanford University, is the general editor of the Pelican Shakespeare series and the Cambridge Studies in Renaissance Literature and Culture.
