The Globalisation of Corporate R & D examines the implications of new trends of globalisation of corporate research and development. In recent years, transnational corporations have begun to develop strategic research and development capabilities in developing countries. This R & D is related to developing products for the global markets or basic research to develop generic technologies for companys' long term use. Previously such R & D was only performed in the industrialised world; now this trend has implications for host countries. Transnational corporations benefit from cheaper wage and production costs and assess to foreign science and technology resources. Prasada Reddy's original research explores what impact such practices will have on the host countries by looking at aspects of integration in developing countries: these case studies cover India and Singapore.
