The Korn Shell: Unix and Linux Programming Manual

Description

I’m not convinced that this was really worth the money, since half of it is the man pages in print. Good idea, perhaps but means that this book was rather thin on the ground where info is concerned.

Good in parts, needs more examples
Like so many techie books I wonder if the author has forgotten what it is like not to know something. It reads that way anyway.
What I would have liked is very many more examples, printed in the text not just on CD. If this put the cost up then I’d pay it.

Often quite complex programming examples exist in the text but I find them very hard to follow. However, there is no doubt I have learnt some good stuff from this book, hence the three stars..Michael

Very useful
This book provides an in depth hands-on advice how to use the Korn Shell features It contains hundreds of examples plus complete ready to run sample scripts.
