Solution: Allow Rosetta Stone access via your firewall.

Rosetta Stone ERROR 2122 SOLUTION (database is too old):
Solution: Find and delete the file tracking.db3. To do this, you've got to allow the view of hidden files.

tomy it is as easy as peasy. just click on the link and a new
window will take you to rapidshare, or you may have to hold
the control key while doing this depending on the settings
of you internet explorer. or else you can copy the link and
paste onto the address bar. once at rapidshare you get to
select your download method, free or premium. for someone
like you you get to select free where then a tomer will keep
you waiting for some 30 or so seconds and then a button will
appear saying download or so. make sure you click this button
and soon the file to be download will appear with an option of
opening, saving or cancelling. choose save and select a location
you want to choose from a save file dialog box that will appear.
once the download is done you will have to use winrar to uncompress
the archive. simple.

The patch is definitely clean! If you want serious results whether a file is infected or not, you should do two things:

1. Upload the suspicious file to http://www.virustotal.com or similar service and let this service analyze the file.

2. If you receive results that some misc. anti virus scanners judge them as malware, you should analyze the file with "HijackThis.exe" from Trend Micro. If are no security expert, but want to know the opinion of an expert, you can post the logfile of the HijackThis security check in one of the many HijackThis internet boards.

For "Rosetta Stone 3.3.5 Product Activation Patch - JDS.exe" I received following results from
http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/d8c60661240193d6d1c2c29eb16708cc

The analisis shows that 28 out of 39 virus scanners (71.79%) judge the patch as clean and 11 (28.21%) as malware. It is no suprise that anti virus scanners like Symantec, Panda, F-Secure or AVG judge the file as malware while other major anti virus scanners like NOD32, AntiVir, BitDefender, Panda, Sophos or TrendMicro analyze as clean. It's just a matter of the software's depth of the heuristic data!

So, you shouldn't tell other users that a specific file were malware, just because your anti virus scanner tells you so. Let me guess: do you work with Symantec?

This patch - Rosetta Stone 3.3.5 Product Activation Patch - JDS.exe - has been analyzed by experts of two different security boards and it is definitely clean. I have it installed myself on my personal computer for three weeks now, of course. ;-)

As soon as I have access to Greek v3 I will post it in this thread, of course. Until then, I recommend that you use Greek v2, just to get things started for you. :-)
