Transformers: Movie Prequel Complete

Transformers: Movie Prequel, published by IDW Publishing, is a 2007 4-issue comic book limited series that serves as a prequel to the 2007 film Transformers. It is written by Simon Furman and IDW editor-in-chief Chris Ryall, who was allowed to read the film's script, and penciled by artist Don Figueroa.

The series depicts the sequence of events that led to the battle for the Allspark as seen in the live-action film directed by Michael Bay and starring Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwicky, a teenager involved in a war between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons, two factions of alien robots who can disguise themselves by transforming into everyday machinery. The Decepticons desire control of the Allspark, the object that created their robotic race, with the intention of using it to build an army by giving life to the machines of Earth. The film also starred Josh Duhamel, was the biggest blockbuster for 2007 and became the breakout for Megan Fox as a sexy Hollywood superstar.

The first issue was due for release in February 2007 (publication was scheduled from February to May, 2007), but was moved back to March 6 due to a printing error. It was part of Free Comic Book Day on May 5, 2007. Issues 1 and 2 sold out.
